Currently the BMW 5 Series long-wheelbase version is produced there.
On May 24th 2012 the grand opening of the second production plant "Tiexi" took place: in the new plant the BMW X1, BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series long-wheelbase are produced.
The two partners have also begun producing 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engines at a third location in Shenyang. The launch of engine production will allow the joint venture's two production locations in Dadong and Tiexi to be supplied locally.
The Shenyang plants fulfil the same high process, quality and safety standards as all other BMW Group locations.
The plants, a joint venture between the BMW Group and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd., produces vehicles solely for the local market and contributes to developing and penetrating the Chinese market. The BMW Group has been present in China since 1994, when it opened a representative office in Beijing.
